Beginnings of life

Merritt was born in The Bronx, New York. He was raised by a single mother and had two younger siblings in what was described as a “spacious” apartment and is of Ghanaian descent. Merritt called himself a problem child of the three, as he often got involved in petty thefts and fights at school.
