Biography

Jason Statham is a London-based actor who worked as a model before starting his film career and excelled as a trampoline jumper.

The son of a singer and dancer made his film debut in Guy Ritchie’s Lock & Stock (1998), a thriller in which he played the role of Bacon. He worked with Richie again as “El Turco” in “Snatch”. Pigs and Diamonds’ (2000) before finding international fame as Frank Martin’s character in ‘The Transporter’ (2002), a film produced by Luc Besson.

Other titles in his filmography, most of them action and crime thrillers, are Ghosts of Mars (2001) by John Carpenter, The Italian Job (2003) by F. Gary Gray, Collateral (2004) by Michael Mann, Revolver (2005), the third its title, directed by Guy Ritchie, or The Assassin (War) (2007), an action film starring Jet Li.

In In the Name of the King (2007), he starred in a video game adaptation.

In 2008, he published the third part of “Transporter”.
That same year, he starred in Death Race – La Carrera de la Muerte (2008), a film in which he played Jensen Ames, a prisoner who can gain freedom by participating in a death race with other prisoners.

In Los Mercenarios (2010) he is directed by Sylvester Stallone and is surrounded by several icons of action cinema.

A year later, he released The Mechanic (2011), a remake of Coldly…Without Personal Motives, a film starring Charles Bronson, in which he played hitman Arthur Bishop. Five years later, he starred in the sequel Mechanic: Resurrection (2016).

In the same year as Mechanic, Jason Statham starred in Blitz (2011), a thriller based on the novel by Ken Bruen, in which he played a cop who must catch a serial killer of a cop, as well as the plot intrigue “Asesinos De Elite” ” ( 2011), who shares the spotlight with Clive Owen and Robert De Niro. In “Parker” (2013) he paired with Jennifer Lopez.

He starred in the action film Fast & Furious 7 (2015), playing the character of Deckard Shaw.
In the same year, he appeared in the comedy Espías (2015), a film starring Melissa McCarthy.
He later reprized his presence as Deckard Shaw in Fast and Furious 8 (2017).

In 2018, he released Megalodon (2018), a film in which Jason faces off against a giant prehistoric shark.
The film is based on the novel by Steve Alton.
In 2019, he returned to play Shaw in The Fast and the Furious: Hobbs and Shaw (2019) alongside Dwayne Johnson.

Guy Ritchie returned to direct Statham in Wake Up The Fury (2021), a remake of the French film Le Convoyeur (2004).

Jason is currently preparing Spy 2 (2022), a sequel to Espías (2015).

Partnered with British model and actress Kelly Brook, former partner of actor Billy Zane.
His current girlfriend is the actress and model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (born 1987), with whom he gave birth to his first child in June 2017, whom they named Jack Oscar.
