Houston reportedly appeared “disheveled” and “erratic” in the days before her death. On February 9, 2012, Houston visited singers Brandy Nor-wood and Monica, together with Clive Davis, at their rehearsals for Davis’s pre-programmed Awards party at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills That same day, she made her last public performance when she joined Kelly Price on stage in Hollywood, California, and sang “Jesus Loves Me”.

Two days later, on February 11, Houston was found unconscious in Suite 434 at the Beverly Hilton, submerged in the bathtub. Beverly Hills paramedics arrived at about 3:30 pm, found Houston unresponsive, and performed CPR. Houston has pronounced dead at 3:55 pm PST. The cause of death was not immediately known; local police said there were “no obvious signs of criminal intent”

Winans was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Delores and David Winans, on October 8, 1964. She is one of 10 children. Her parents were part of the Church Of God In Christ and would only listen to gospel music. She sang her first solo at the age of 8.

Winans now resides in Brentwood, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville, with her husband Alvin Love, and two children. Her children were featured in the BeBe & CeCe Winans music video “If Anything Ever Happened to You”.

CeCe Winans was the best friend of Whitney Houston and godmother to her daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown. On February 18, 2012, Winans performed “Don’t Cry for Me” and “Jesus Loves Me” at Houston’s funeral, at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey.
