Bollywood stars Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal made their relationship official as they exchanged rings and exchanged vows in the presence of friends and family in Mumbai on Tuesday. The celebrations began for five days in Richa’s hometown of Delhi, then moved to Lucknow, where Ali’s family lives, and finally ended on Wednesday with a huge party in Mumbai, the city where the actors met, live and they work now.
The couple looked stunning in tailored outfits. Richa wore Anamika Khanna and Ali Fazal wore London designer Kaushik Velendra.
The reception was attended by friends of the couple and colleagues from the film industry, including Hrithik Roshan, who came with his girlfriend Saba Azad, Vicky Kaushal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Kalki Koechlin, Tilottama Shome, Huma Quereshi and others.
Richa and Ali first met on the sets of “Fukrey”. His film co-stars Manjot Singh, Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma were also part of Tuesday’s celebrations.
Ali also talked about things that got out of control at the last minute, but there wasn’t much the couple could do about it: “Like… the fact that we lost a location at the last minute. Can you imagine the stress?” losing a wedding venue without warning? And this is Mumbai! We immediately went into panic mode and tried to replace him. Or that one of the singers who was supposed to perform passed away during the pandemic, someone we hired long ago time… I have a feeling that pop culture has been feeding us this narrative cliche for so long that most of us are getting over it. You say, ‘I’m doing this, I have to deal with it, and now I have to have fun.
But the most important thing about marriage as an institution, for Ali Fazal, is to prove the idea that marriages don’t last. “I have seen very few marriages that work in my life, so I would like to refute that. But other than that, there is something spiritual that I share with Richa. And I thank her for that because it has made me more spiritually aware than before,” Ali signed.
