Career

On October 8, 2018, Blueface released a video for his song “Respect My Crypn” through the WorldStarHipHop YouTube channel, and shortly after the song was posted on Twitter where it became a viral meme due to his flow lagging behind the beat and the intonation of his voice, with users comparing his voice to that of comic book character Courage The Cowardly Dog and Birdarang from Teen Titans Go!.
The popularity of the video drew attention to Blueface’s music, with her songs “Thotiana” and “Next Big Thing” gaining popularity. His popularity increased, even more, when he held a contest on his Instagram page that week regarding which high school he was to visit.
