Andy Williams was an American singer. He has recorded 43 albums in his career and has sold over 45 million records. He is also known for his TV show The Andy Williams Show.
Howard Andrew Williams was born on December 3, 1927, to a middle-class family. From a young age, he performed in church. He formed a singing group with his brothers and named them the Williams Brothers in 1938. The brothers were signed to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and appeared in several films such as Anchors Aweigh and Ziegfeld Follies.
Williams began his solo career in 1963 and released an EP, “X”, and in 1956 he released his only number-one hit, “Butterfly”. In 1962 he produced the soundtrack for Breakfast at Tiffany’s and won the 1962 Best Original Song award.
Claudine Longet and Williams were wed in 1961, and they later divorced in 1970. 1991 saw his marriage to Debbie Haas.

In 2011, Andy Williams announced that he had been diagnosed with bladder cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy. On September 25, 2012, Williams died of bladder cancer at the age of 84.
